Apple Orchard Field Trip

We're excited to ride a school bus to the Apple Orchard.

Our tour guide was awesome!  She taught us about the important job bats do by eating bugs every night.  The bugs can damage the apple trees.

We learned about how bees are important in the Apple Orchard.  In addition to making yummy honey, bees pollinate the apple trees.

Mrs. Cochran modeled what beekeepers wear and use to collect honey.

We took a break in the barn.  The barn was built 125 years ago!

We saw lots of different trees on the farm.  We found lots of buckeyes!

We used our senses while exploring the 2-1/2 acre corn maze.

We sang songs around the campfire.

Outdoor beehives.

We had lots of room to run on the farm.

There is a community garden available on the farm.

We learned how apples are collected and sorted.

We took turns ringing the old school bell.

Indoor beehive.

We saw lots of different apples that are grown on the farm.

We were seriously tired when we got back on the bus!
